A four-bedroom holiday home with own pool, in Provence

Our six acre estate, La Genestière, lies between the old Roman towns of Orange and Vaison-la-Romaine at the heart of ‘La Provence des Papes’ in the Vaucluse department of France. Its origin can be traced back to the 15th century and it once belonged to Diane de Poitiers, who, for more than 20 years, was the influential lover of the French King Henri II, husband of Catherine de Médici.

The estate comprises olive trees and orchards, an historic Provençal farmhouse with walled garden, (our ‘mas’) and a villa that has been equipped so that it can be rented separately as a tranquil and sunny Provençal holiday home available for 8 to 10 people.

There is also a large (9mx5m) private swimming pool for the exclusive use of the occupants of the villa. It is situated in an enclosed private garden at the back of the villa, where it is bordered by centuries old truffle oaks and poplars. The accommodation enjoys real privacy within the calm of this large estate at the heart of the Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards.
